To Walk With Game-Changing Feet
What does it mean to take mystical steps with practical feet? Or, vice versa, taking practical steps with mystical feet? I do both, all the time. So do you, if you’re honest with yourself. Game-changing feet are those whose path creates itself beneath them. They alter worlds with every step.
You may remember me saying, from time to time, that I learned to walk outdoors, repeating the syllable ‘Ma’ with every step…or every other if I was moving quickly. The point is to be conscious and fully present with reverence for life in each moment. It is a way of honoring the sacredness beneath our feet.
I began this practice as a child. I read about the indigenous of many nations, and how their preferred method of walking was barefoot or, at least, with leather-soled footwear, so that the trail could be sensed more acutely. I experimented and found this to be true, bearing my blisters and calluses with honor. I found a relationship with Gaia’s surface that I would not have otherwise experienced. And, I learned to sense her love, from anywhere on the planet where I could immerse myself in nature’s aura.
I don’t use the expression “pathless path” much, anymore. Perhaps I ought to do, as it is the most accurate articulation of the Great Mother’s way. But, in the current collective confusion, it feels as though that sound byte could be one more cacophony byte, lost in the melee. Then again, I’m mentioning it here, so there’s that. One hopes you might have ears to hear.
The pathless path conjures up images of those old-style cakewalk diagrams from dance class, or perhaps a game of Twister. The straight and narrow being replaced by orchestrated confusion. That is only a perspective of the breaking currents. Her crashing waves will obliterate our tracks in the sand, as they are meant to do.
If we allow these waves to wash away, not only our tracks, but our mental and emotional burdens, the unique and precious paths that are truly ours will begin to shine and light our ways. Taking mystical steps with practical feet is to know that we must let go and let our spirits fly free before we see where we might next land. Trust becomes an ally. Taking practical steps with mystical feet, hearts, and hands, happens as we trust that our path will support us.
We have all experienced proof and evidence that we are so supported. When things get crunchy, we tend to forget those times. During this time, this transit, it helps to remember what we have always known. We are as we are. We are supported. We are cherished. And, we can seed that inner certainty with every step we take. We can sow a new weave that transcends limitations.
Game-changing feet trust that the path that supports their journey begins and ends within. They stride and stand in truth. They sense the ways between all games, all identities, all roles, all fears. They understand that any form of self-definition can be used to control their journey. They choose, in every moment, to be free.
Dancing between the worlds, edge-runners open doors in consciousness. And, in so doing, they leave traceless, yet certain, signs for those whose destiny it is to change the game.
It is a world to be born beneath your feet.
